Imogen Sarr writes about institutions that outlast the reason they were built — harbour offices, tide tables, and the clerks who keep both long after anyone checks. She worked six years in maritime records before publishing fiction, and "The Tide Clerks" grew out of a decommissioning file she was once asked to close. She serializes slowly, on a schedule she commits to before the first chapter goes up.
